Chartwells

Chartwells, our meal service provider, has a separate site specifically designed for KES that provides a wealth of information concerning nutrition, health and wellness, Canada's food guide, catering and additional information about Chartwells and what they offer.
The School provides a full program of meals for boarders and lunch and two nutrition breaks for day students. Day students are welcome to stay for other meals on a sign-in basis. The meals are served cafeteria style to give students a wide choice of foods along with a soup station, salad bar and sandwich bar with every lunch and dinner. A formal candlelight dinner is served a few times throughout the school year.

Our Dining Hall

    • The Stanfield Dining Hall was named in honour of Frank T. Stanfield, a Governor and benefactor of the School. In 2003, the Dining Hall was renovated and enlarged, thanks to the support of Mrs. McLellan, and was renamed the Stanfield Dining Hall/McLellan Annex. All meals are served in the dining hall. Generally, the meals are served cafeteria style – buffets are incorporated for a change of pace and some special dinners are served family style. The dining hall can seat 400 comfortably for large functions involving the entire School.

FAQ

List of 3 frequently asked questions.

  • Can I get snacks between meals?

We offer three nutrition breaks during the day. One mid-morning, one mid-afternoon, and one evening break. Snacks are also available through the Tuck Shop or vending machines.
  • I will miss a meal due to sports or school activities. How will I get to eat?

Your coach or teacher will either arrange for boxed lunches to be taken or plans will be made to eat out. You won’t go hungry!
  • Can I take food out of the cafeteria?

It is our policy that food cannot be taken out of the cafeteria. We must ensure that all the food we serve is safe, a measure beyond our control when food is taken out.
