Junior School Students Record Songs for the First Time in the Fountain Performing Arts Studio - Issue 35

On Tuesday, May 26, students from Mr. Simonar’s Grade 8 and 9 music classes recorded songs during the first two sessions at the Fountain Performing Arts Studio. Engineered by Jack ’29 and Sam ’28, the students performed in a professional recording environment using various condenser and dynamic microphones.

Students learned the importance of microphone placement, audio isolation, and basic mixing skills. As we share our first recordings, it is incredibly exciting to begin imagining the creative possibilities this studio will open up for us in the near future. Overall, the students recorded five songs, two of which are shared for your listening pleasure here!
