Artist of the Week - Issue 32

Though some time has passed since the Senior School play production, Ethan still stands out for the way he stepped up when it mattered. Initially unsure about auditioning, he chose to support backstage, but when approached to take on a role, he accepted without hesitation and rose to the challenge. His performance was confident and engaging, and he even handled an unexpected moment on stage by improvising smoothly to keep the scene moving. He proved himself to be a reliable and valued member of the cast. Way to go, Ethan!

Chelsea demonstrated impressive courage and commitment throughout the Senior School play by taking on an additional role that required quick transitions from the Duchess of Athens to a fairy. She approached each performance with professionalism and consistency, making every character feel clear and distinct. Her line delivery was strong, and her stage presence brought energy to every scene she entered. It is especially notable given that she is only in Grade 10, a true standout! Well done, Chelsea!

With a keen artistic eye and a collaborative spirit, Thomas has been a key player throughout the creative process of our class performance, 12 Angry Pigs. From thoughtfully suggesting movement choices for both his own character and others to contributing ideas on lighting and visual storytelling, his impact has been strongly felt during rehearsals. Stepping confidently into a lead role, he has brought his character to life with commitment, detail, and energy, even arriving fully immersed in an excellent costume! His dedication and creativity truly embody what it means to be part of the performing arts. Way to go, Thomas!

Preston has shown strong focus in visual art, with a keen eye for observation. His study of a Group of Seven painting came alive through his impressionistic work, highlighting the dramatic colours of the landscape he chose. Preston also worked with inspiration and efficiency on his agamograph projects, executing visually stimulating and precise work. Great artwork, Preston!
