Assistant Hockey Coach- Highlanders Prep Hockey
About Our Opportunity
Working closely with the Head Coach and Director, Hockey Operations, the Assistant Coach will play a highly hands-on role within a competitive, high-performance environment. The successful candidate will bring a strong passion for developing athletes and will contribute meaningfully to skill development, on-ice performance, and team culture. This role is focused on helping players reach their full potential while supporting the overall success of the program. Opportunities also exist to explore additional roles within the broader King’s-Edgehill School community.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and leading daily practices, skill development sessions, video review, and game preparation
- Provide individualized coaching, instruction, and feedback to support each student-athlete’s development
- Assist with bench management, game strategy, player evaluation, and post-game analysis
- Support year-round player development through off-season training, and individualized development plans
- Mentor student-athletes by promoting accountability, leadership, sportsmanship, and positive decision-making
- Represent KES professionally while fostering a culture of integrity, respect, accountability, and excellence
The Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Collegiate, junior, or elite-level playing and/or coaching experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to teach hockey skills while fostering a positive, competitive, and inclusive team culture
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to contribute meaningfully to the broader King’s-Edgehill School community.
What We Offer
- Position Type: Ten (10) month contract, with the potential for renewal
- Compensation: $7,500 stipend
