Last week in the Elliott and Barbara Spafford Pool here on campus, we hosted our very first competitive swim meet. Five teams representing about 80 swimmers from Grades 5-9 did their best in butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle and freestyle relays. This was the first ACIS Swim Meet since before the pandemic. It was an incredibly loud and exciting afternoon of races.
Lillian Blois ‘27 was our sole representative for KES girls. She did us proud as she earned a silver medal performance in her 50-metre freestyle and 50-metre breaststroke, and a fifth-place spot in the 50-metre backstroke.
Harvey Hadley ‘27 made the most of his three events as he walked away with three gold in his50-metre butterfly, 50-metre breaststroke, and 50-metre freestyle. All that glittered was not just in the hands of Hadley, as Rowan Francis ‘27 grabbed his gold in the 50-metre backstroke and swam to silvers in 50-metre freestyle and 50-metre butterfly.
Just joining KES in January, William Tseng ‘27 has been creating a big splash in the pool. William sprinted to a fifth placing in this 50-metre breaststroke, and ninth in his 50-metre freestyle.
