Artists of the Week — Issue 6

The arts at King’s-Edgehill School are an inclusive environment that embraces diversity, not only in who we are, but in our choices of what we pursue and how we express it. Creativity and imagination allow the capacity to develop ideas, solve problems, and provide life skills. Intelligence and creativity are overlapping skills, and through the arts, a person builds confidence, develops perspective, and finds their true nature.

Inés Fernández '29, Grade 9

Inés began the year with incredible enthusiasm for dance and continues to bring that same energy to every practice. She holds herself with maturity, creativity, and confidence, fitting in easily with her teammates while demonstrating natural leadership. Her strong collaboration skills and impressive memory make her an essential part of the team. Ines is willing to step outside her comfort zone, exploring new styles and deepening her understanding of how strength and emotion work together in dance. She has already played a vital role in the creation of our first three routines, and I know she will continue to accomplish amazing work in dance this year. I’m so grateful for her positive spirit and can’t wait to see all she accomplishes next.

Caleb DeCoste '30, Grade 8

Caleb has immersed himself in the arts impressively in a short period of time. His piano playing in Morning Chapel is always beautiful, showing clear dedication to his craft and technique. In Drama class, he has combined his passions for music and theatre, playing piano while classmates created characters inspired by his music. On stage, his risk-taking, strong presence, and thoughtful creative choices, both physically and in writing, make his performances inspiring to watch. Congratulations, Caleb!
