Guiding Our Steps Toward Peace: A Tribute at King’s-Edgehill — Issue 12

To recognize the fallen in war, King’s-Edgehill School reverently honours those who attended the school and gave the ultimate sacrifice fighting for peace.
The commemorative crosswalk near the school’s cenotaph was initiated by a parent, a retired Commander in the Navy, Mr. Bill Sanson, who generously committed time and energy to making the project happen. The design process between Mr. Sanson, Mr. Seagram, and me was an inspiring process and one we are happy to see finally executed with cooperating weather. While a formal crosswalk guides safe passage across a road, this cross walk guides our thoughts and remembrance toward peace and compassion for humanity, for now and evermore. It is fitting that poppies and sentries mark our reflection, for the young men of King’s Collegiate School and for kindness to all. We will remember them.
