Get Stitching: KES Fibre Arts Club — Issue 4

This Monday, September 22, marked the second meeting of our all-new fibre arts club, Stitchery! From crocheting and knitting, to embroidery, bracelets, and anything your heart desires, we’ve got you covered! Stitchery is a place for anyone of all skill levels to come hang out, chat with their friends, and finally make time for their crafting in the hubbub of KES life.

So far, we’ve been focusing on crochet with our fantastic group of beginners – and boy, are they doing great! They started out learning slip knots, and by the second meeting were whizzing through their first single crochet stitches (and for all our non-crocheters out there, that’s like going from learning your ABCs for the first time, to reading Shakespeare in the span of one week). Honestly, I couldn’t be more amazed. Great job, guys! I’m super duper proud of all of you.

Stitchery, above all else, is a self-paced way for you to learn any fibre art you’d like. And so, we couldn’t go without giving a shout-out to our dedicated solo learners: whoop, whoop! If you just want to get started on your first project and whiz through YouTube tutorials, or you’d like to do knitting and aren’t afraid of an adventure, thanks for just being here. We encourage everyone to choose their first project and go at their own pace. So, every Monday from 3:15 pm to 4:15 pm in the Art Room … get stitching!
