Grade 12 and Parent Reception — Issue 2

Dear KES Community,

The Grade 12 and Parent Reception has quickly become a cherished annual tradition—made all the more special because, for most families, it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience reserved exclusively for our graduating students and their parents. As one of the few lucky people who get to host this gathering year after year, I can honestly say: this one may have been my favourite yet.

Starting with words from our Head of School, Mr. Seagram addressed the senior class and talked about finishing strong, crossing the finish line, and everything that this year can be. Mrs. Sasaki, our University Guidance Counsellor, then spoke about how to support this class through one of the biggest years of their life, and Mrs. Strickey, our Executive Director of Strategic Growth, spoke from the heart about soaking up every moment that this year will bring.

Closing words were from our Head Students, Adaure Ojinere ’26 and Ray-Ray Gingras ’26, who thanked the parents, spoke with humour about what the journey has been for each member of the graduating class (both before their time at KES and during), and welcomed everyone to a great senior year!

I am looking forward to all that this year will bring with the Class of 2026!
