Community Initiative: Sparking Change for the Unhoused

An idea was sparked when Windsor Mayor Abraham Zebian visited Ms. Andrews' civics class, inspiring student Hadley Swinamer ‘28 to take action for the unhoused in our community. Motivated by the mayor's visit, Hadley brought her concerns to the Youth in Action Council (Tammy Oyebanji '26 and Sophia Osasere '26), and together they sprang into action. Through a successful dress-down day, they raised funds for Chrysalis House Association, which provides shelter, support, and transitional services for women and their children.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to all faculty, staff, students, and parents for their generous support. As the inspiring writing on the wall at Chrysalis House states, "Moving Mountains, Together."

Youth in Action is excited to see what sparks will fly next year! If you have an interest or passion for making a difference, consider joining us in the new school year!
