From CBC Success to Spring Concert: KES Music Class Hits All the Right Notes
The Grade 11 and 12 music class has been busy this year working on many different genres of music, from rock to funk to pop. We had the opportunity to compete in the nationwide CBC music class competition at the beginning of the year and ended up placing in the top 10!
Some pieces that we have been working on a lot recently and have stood out are Just What I Needed by The Cars, The Chain by Fleetwood Mac, and Locked Out of Heaven by Bruno Mars. This class is filled with talent – whether it's our strong singers, amazing percussionists, pianists, guitarists, brass players, and so much more.
We are all eagerly preparing for the upcoming Spring Concert on May 15 at 7:00 pm where each music class and the choir will prepare a piece and perform in front of the student body and anyone else in the mood to come and hear our young and skillful performers – and we can't wait to see you all there! I, Skye Hussey ‘26, love the Grade 11 and 12 music class because it’s a time where I can forget about all the work I have and sing with my friends. The energy is always positive, and it is a collaborative space where we are allowed to suggest songs and see what is the best fit for our style.
