Distinguished Leaders in the Cadet Corps: Warrant Officers Emery Endres '28 and Max Proctor '27 — Issue 21
At the recent Cadet Mess Dinner, two outstanding leaders were recognized for their exceptional service and leadership within the 254 King’s-Edgehill School Highland Cadet Corps. Of the eight cadets in Nova Scotia to receive the Army Cadet Medal of Merit this year, two were from the 254, a remarkable accomplishment.
Warrant Officer Emery Endres '28 began her cadet journey with 507 F/L Graham Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron in Kentville before transferring to the 254 the following year. She attended summer training at Greenwood in 2023, Argonaut Cadet Training Centre as an Expedition Team Member in 2024, and returned in 2025 as an Expedition Team Leader.
Emery is a Standard First Aider, holds the highest qualification in Distinguished Marksman, is a three-time member of the Zone Marksmanship Team, and participates on the Biathlon Team. In 2025, she received the Yorston Smallwood Trophy as the top Junior School cadet in the corps. She is also a gifted musician and has participated in Cadet Music Workshops over the past two years. Emery currently serves as Specialty Warrant Officer and will return to Argonaut CTC this summer as a Staff Cadet. She is a very deserving recipient of the Army Cadet Medal of Merit with Howard Bar.
Warrant Officer Max Proctor '27 joined 327 Southern Kings Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron in Montague, PEI, at age 12 before transferring to the 254 the following year. Max is an exemplary leader who sets a high standard in dress, drill, and deportment. In 2024, he received the Captain Alfred Shaw Scholarship for exceptional pride and leadership. He is a Standard First Aider, a Zone Marksmanship Team member, and holds First Class Marksmanship qualification. Max currently serves as Platoon Warrant Officer for Platoon 6 and was awarded the Army Cadet Medal of Merit with Rodger Bar.
Congratulations to both Emery and Max on these rare and well-earned honours.
