David Robertson Brings Storytelling to Life at KES — Issue 10

It was wonderful to have award-winning Cree author David Robertson visit our School this week to speak to Junior School classes in the library. Originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, David has published more than 40 books across a variety of genres, including graphic novels, middle-grade fantasy, memoir, and picture books.

The Grade 8 students were excited to hear him share the inspiration and background behind his Misewa series, which many of them read last year in Mr. LePoidevin’s Grade 7 class. The Grade 7 students enjoyed a special sneak peek of David’s forthcoming picture book and took part in creative writing exercises led by the author himself.

We’re grateful to have had the opportunity to welcome such a talented and inspiring storyteller to our School community.
