This week had many beautiful moments on our campus. I have seen acts of genuine kindness, I have witnessed some students showing integrity in the cafeteria, I have seen the fruits of KES, and lastly, I have felt the Spirit at work. I am truly thankful to have been able to see the growth. With the busy schedule of our lives here on campus, it is imperative that we take a moment and be thankful. What are you thankful for?
I have been reflecting on the Harvest Season, a time when the seeds that were sown have grown with nourishment into beautiful fruits. These fruits will feed us and help us to continue to grow; we sow the very fruits that will, in essence, sow us. The reciprocity of Harvest Season is undeniable. Here at KES, we are all fed, and we all grow. In September, it is difficult to see where we are headed in the school year. One thing is assured; we will have grown and we will have changed just like the leaves.
Nourishment is incredibly important to our day; if we eat junk food all day, every day, chances are we will feel unwell. If we eat the foods that have been harvested, we will likely feel better, have more energy, and greater focus. We cannot just focus on our physical body to be whole and healthy; we also need to work on our mental and spiritual health to achieve balance. What are you doing for your mental and spiritual well-being? Are you nourishing them as much as your physical being? Do you stop your day to feed yourself mentally or spiritually as often as you break for physical nourishment?
Being spiritually fed takes discipline, it takes some guidance, and it takes an openness that will sustain you for life. We get an opportunity during Chapel to feed our spiritual selves, but is that enough? You physically nourish yourself multiple times a day by eating, working out, and the list continues. Growing your spiritual discipline sometimes can feel like you are a fish out of water. I am here to help you, to guide you, and to walk with you. Please feel free to meet with me to discuss how you can grow this part of your life in a meaningful way.
With every blessing,
