Recognizing our Junior School Student Teachers

The King’s-Edgehill Junior School had an excellent collaboration with the Acadia University Education Department this year. We hosted five student teachers for their practicum, and each had an edifying experience. In the words of Ms. Hannah Douglas, who worked alongside Mr. LePoidevin, the experience was “exciting, gratifying and special.”

All the young teachers left feeling that their choice of profession is a good one, as each is planning to pursue work in a school next year. Mr. Kevin Lakes mentored Mr. Kameren Elliot before Christmas and Mr. Owen Kinsman in recent months.

“Both young men have a bright future in education,” said Mr. Lakes. “The students took to both of them immediately and built the relationship over time, each adding daily to the cultures in our classes.”
During the winter months, Mr. Kershaw mentored KES alumnus Mr. Ben Lohr '19 and Mr. LePoidevin hosted Ms. Christine Moreau.

All the matches were well received and positive. We wish the Acadia students a long and rewarding career with students as they build communities for children.
