Reunion of the 5s: A Blast from the Past!

Starting Friday, May 2, the campus took on a whole new look! The Margaret Vair McLellan Concert Hall sparkled with extra tinsel, the tables in the Stanfield Dining Hall/McLellan Annex were draped in white tablecloths, and the faces around campus seemed a bit... older. This was, of course, due to the Grade 12 and Alumni Dinner, marking the beginning of the Reunion of the 5s weekend!

Thanks to a delicious meal from our Dining Services team, the evening kicked off at 6:30 pm and the energy was high. Following the dinner, the Cadet Ball commenced with a lively swing dance, accompanied by a 20-plus-piece band led by our very own former teacher (1980-2023), Jeff Smith. Between dances and plenty of lively conversations, alumni enjoyed a fantastic night on campus.

No great night is complete without brunch, and the reunion continued Saturday morning with a tasty brunch, followed by a campus tour. Afterward, alumni enjoyed an afternoon visiting local vineyards, Grand Pré and Lightfoot and Wolfville. The day wrapped up with a fun-filled evening at the Spitfire Arms Alehouse in Windsor, where over 30 alumni and former faculty members gathered.

As they say, "You never stop learning," and that was certainly true when former teacher and now Executive Director of Strategic Growth, Heather Strickey, hosted three competitive rounds of trivia. With questions covering the School’s history, our mascot, and world events, alumni from three different decades battled it out for school spirit and some fun swag.

The weekend wrapped up on Sunday with a quiet, reflective moment in the Hensley Memorial Chapel. Rev’d Curry led a short chapel service, which, of course, included the ever-popular hymn #35, Lord of the Dance.

Thank you to everyone who traveled to join us this past weekend, and to all who helped make this reunion possible!
