About Our Opportunity

Our school is proud to offer a welcoming and supportive boarding experience for students from around the world. As a Assistant Dorm Parent in Buckle House, you will serve as a key caregiver for a group of approximately 20 male students throughout the school year and play an essential role in creating a safe, positive, and inclusive residential community. This is a live‑in, on‑campus position that includes responsibilities related to student safety and wellbeing, weekly supervision, regular communication with parents, and the chaperoning of off‑campus outings and school events.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Foster a welcoming, close-knit boarding community where students feel safe, accepted, and at home
  • Complete approximately 40% of assigned weekend duty shifts throughout the school year (Friday 10:00 pm–Sunday 8:00 am), including holidays, according to the Main Dorm Parent’s schedule
  • Complete one weeknight duty per week (7:00 pm to 8:00 am)
  • Supervise 2–4 weekend activities per term, including off-campus excursions
  • Maintain a consistent, visible presence in the residence and engage regularly with boarding students
  • Communicate proactively and professionally with parents via email, phone, and in-person meetings
  • Participate in regular Dorm Parent meetings and weekly flat meetings
  • Support the orientation and onboarding of new students into the boarding community
  • Actively participate in KES events and school-wide activities
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Minimum two years experience working with youth in an educational, residential, or social context preferred
  • Enthusiasm for working with young people and contributing positively to their social and emotional development
  • Approachable and able to deal with problems efficiently and calmly as they arise
  • High standards of professionalism and excellent interpersonal skills when working with children and adults
  • Ability to coach/instruct in at least one KES co-curricular area considered an asset
  • Completion of or enrollment in a post-secondary program an asset
