Bus Driver
About Our Opportunity
We are seeking a reliable and professional Bus Driver to join our transportation team. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting daily school operations and student life by safely transporting students and staff to and from the School and a variety of activities, events, and school trips.
Primary Responsibilities
- Safely operate a range of school vehicles, including large buses, shuttle buses, and passenger vans
- Transport students and staff for daily routes, school trips, athletics, and special events
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain accurate records
- Follow all traffic and safety regulations and laws and adhere to school transportation policies
- Uphold a positive, professional, and student-focused environment while driving
- Maintain a positive, calm, and professional demeanor while students are on the bus
- Report all accidents and incidents, including the completion and submission of required reports and forms
- Report any bus malfunctions or changes in pick-up or drop-off times
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements
- Valid Nova Scotia Class 2 with air brake endorsement or Class 2B driver’s license
- Clean driving abstract and satisfactory background checks
- Previous experience driving buses and passenger vehicles required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to interact respectfully and effectively with youth
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and professional in appearance and conduct
What We Offer
- Position Type: Part- time (minimum of 25 hours per week during school year)
- Salary: $20.00 per hour
