Community Relations, Marketing Assistant (Summer Student)
ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY
The Community Relations, Marketing Assistant will support the marketing, communications, and community engagement initiatives that strengthen engagement with students, families, alumni, and the broader community. Reporting to the Manager, Community Relations, this role provides hands-on experience in digital content creation, communications support, event coordination, archival organization, and data management, while contributing to the School’s brand and storytelling efforts.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Social Media Support: Assist with planning, scheduling, and posting content on the School’s social media platforms.
- Content Creation: Help develop engaging digital content (photos, short videos, captions) to showcase student life and events.
- Event Assistance: Capture photography and videography at summer programs and events; help organize and share content. Support the planning and execution of events, including setup, on-site assistance, and post-event wrap-up.
- Data & Analytics Support: Assist with organizing and maintaining communications data, contact lists, digital assets, and reporting tools.
- Brand Consistency: Ensure content aligns with the School’s tone and branding guidelines.
- General Department Support: Provide administrative and creative assistance for marketing and community relations projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Must be enrolled in a post-secondary program for 2026 in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, a related field or equivalent experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and basic content creation tools.
- Interest in photography, videography, and storytelling, and digital media management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in managing files, data, and archival documents.
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Creativity and attention to detail.
- Previous experience in marketing or communications is an asset but not required.
POSITION DETAILS
- Job Type: Seasonal Hourly (32 hours per week)
- Term: June to August 2026 (Start date: June 1, 2026)- 12 weeks
- Salary: $18.00 per hour
- Work Location: KES Campus + local offsite event venues
