All 382 King’s-Edgehill School students are currently immersed in the Explore More Program, an initiative designed to encourage the pursuit of new skills through the pillars of creativity, life skills, and service. This innovative program has transformed our campus and community into vibrant spaces of hands-on learning, where students are stepping beyond traditional classrooms to discover new interests and future pathways.
Among the many offerings, seven students are participating in co-operative explorations under the guidance of our in-house athletic therapist, Jennie Sawler. Students interested in careers in kinesiology and physiotherapy are gaining meaningful, practical experience while preparing to mentor with practitioners in our local community.
Creativity is flourishing beyond campus as well, with 60 students travelling to the Windsor Makers Space to learn directly from local artists. Through felting, weaving, pottery, carpentry, and more, these small-group settings allow for intimate skill development and authentic creative exploration.
On campus, the aromas of traditional French cuisine fill the halls as students learn to cook under the expert guidance of Alex Alford, who brings years of lived experience in France to her instruction. Meanwhile, Vanessa Wade and Brandon Jodrey are equipping students with essential life skills, including budgeting, cooking, and basic car maintenance, from changing oil to replacing a tire.
In another workshop, Aly Kelly is guiding ten students through the art of sewing. With participants spanning a range of experience levels, students are creating everything from clothing to accessories. The quiet hum of sewing machines is a welcome soundtrack to the focused creativity unfolding in the room.
With 36 offerings taking place across our campus and within the wider community, it has been incredible to witness students engaging so fully in this alternative learning space. Explore More continues to complement students’ academic growth while fostering confidence, independence, and curiosity.
Keep your eyes peeled for photos in our stories and social media updates, where we will be sharing highlights of student creations and the remarkable learning happening through this program.
