Artists of the Week — Issue 12

For Artists of the Week, we are celebrating five students for their significant contributions to the arts at King’s-Edgehill School.

The arts at King’s-Edgehill School are an inclusive environment that embraces diversity — not only in who we are, but in our choices of what we pursue and how we express that choice. Creativity and imagination allow us to develop ideas, solve problems, and build essential life skills. Intelligence and creativity are overlapping skills, and through the arts, a person builds confidence, develops perspective, and finds their true nature.

Thomas DeCoste ’32 – Grade 6
Thomas DeCoste ’32 has already made an outstanding contribution to the Cadet Band through his excellent trumpet playing. He performed with confidence both while marching and during the Remembrance Day ceremonies at the Windsor Cenotaph and our School Cenotaph.

Thomas took on the important and solemn duty of performing The Last Post and Reveille, a moving moment for the entire School community and an impressive accomplishment.

This is a remarkable start for a Grade 6 student, and we look forward to many years of his continued musical contributions at King’s-Edgehill School. Thank you, Thomas, for sharing your talent and dedication with our community.

Ezra Sasaki ’26 – Grade 12
For many years, Ezra Sasaki ’26 has been our dedicated bagpiper for countless ceremonies and events at King’s-Edgehill School. From Cadet functions to the Grade 9 Banquet and Closing Day ceremonies, he has consistently brought professionalism, reliability, and skill to each performance, providing a valued service that few others can offer.

As Ezra completes his final year at KES, it is fitting that we recognize him as one of our Artists of the Week. There could be no more appropriate time to do so than following our Remembrance Day ceremonies, a day when Ezra plays a central role in ensuring everything runs smoothly and with the respect it deserves.

Thank you, Ezra, for your years of dedication and for enriching our School community with your music and leadership.

Skye Hussey ’26 – Grade 12
As the lead in The Drowsy Chaperone, Skye Hussey ’26 has demonstrated remarkable dedication and professionalism. She has taken on leadership responsibilities by helping guide rehearsals and supporting her fellow cast members, all while delivering a nuanced and engaging performance.

Beyond the stage, Skye is a vital part of the School’s musical life — from singing in class to performing at assemblies and events. She can always be relied on to volunteer, and her enthusiasm and commitment make her a valued member of the KES arts community.

Ari Roger Shwarz Lomeli ’26 – Grade 12
Ari Roger Shwarz Lomeli ’26 has been a wonderful addition to the Grade 12 class and to the arts at KES. A talented actor and singer, he has brought energy and charisma to his role as Aldolpho in The Drowsy Chaperone.

His dedication and enthusiasm are evident in every rehearsal, and his positive attitude has quickly made him a valued member of the cast. Ari’s creativity and confidence on stage promise exciting things for the rest of the production and for his time at KES.

Harlo Young ’28 – Grade 10
Harlo Young ’28 is a dedicated and talented member of the KES arts community. From singing in the choir to playing guitar at School events, she continues to share her musical gifts with enthusiasm and grace.

In The Drowsy Chaperone, she has approached her role with focus, maturity, and reliability — always prepared, on time, and fully engaged. Harlo’s passion for the arts and her consistent commitment make her a shining example of creativity and leadership within our School.
