From November 9 to 11, the KES choir, pipers, and drummers visited Ottawa, Canada. Ottawa was certainly beautiful and a wonderful experience. We stayed in the Château Laurier, with a beautiful view of Parliament. During our trip, we saw amazing sights such as the Notre-Dame Basilica, the Supreme Court of Canada, a tour of Parliament, the War Museum, the National Gallery of Canada, the House of Commons, and the Rideau Centre.
We got to eat at places like The Grand Woodfire Pizza Place, a pastry shop in the ByWard Market, and Zak’s Diner (which was a fan favourite!). At the service at the Château Laurier, Willoughby Larder ’29 piped in a group of veterans — which was also her first time piping someone in. Congratulations! The choir and the band performed beautifully.
Thank you so much to all the chaperones who made this wonderful experience happen!
