Senior Boys Soccer compete at CAIS Tournament — Issue 8

This year, the King’s-Edgehill School Boys’ Division 1 Soccer Team proudly participated in the 2025 CAIS Senior Boys’ Soccer Tournament, hosted by Stanstead College. It has been nearly a decade since our last appearance at this prestigious national event, making this year’s participation especially meaningful for our program.

The team competed in the Second Division, alongside seven other independent schools from across Canada.
  • Day 1: KES opened the tournament with a strong performance, defeating Lakefield College School (2–1) and St. John’s-Kilmarnock School (4–0), earning first place in their pool.
  • Day 2: In their final pool-stage match, the team faced Ridley College, falling 1–3. Later that afternoon, KES rebounded with a decisive 4–1 semi-final victory over Trinity College School, advancing to the championship final.
  • Day 3: The team played a highly competitive and intense final against a skilled Ashbury College side, ultimately falling 1–4.
Although the team did not capture the championship title, the tournament was an exceptional experience for all involved. As one of the smallest teams in the division, our players showcased tremendous skill, determination, and sportsmanship—demonstrating that KES belongs among the top independent school programs in the country.

This return to CAIS competition after nearly ten years provided valuable insight into the high calibre of play across Canada and offered our athletes meaningful opportunities to connect and engage with peers from other schools, both on and off the field.

Thank you,
