Our Provincial Debaters

This past weekend, three King’s-Edgehill students represented Nova Scotia on the provincial debate team at Junior Nationals in Toronto, Ontario. The tournament was hosted at the University of Toronto Schools and was attended by Mollybeth Dickinson ‘26, Ezra Choo ‘26 and Isaac Angus 26’ who were three of 12 students representing the province.

The weekend was a mixture of exploring the Toronto City centre as well as engaging in six rounds of high-level debate with the best students from across the country. Students debated topics concerning the commercialization of social movements, permanent seats and veto power from the UN Security Council and the detriments of advertisements for sports gambling. With eloquence and depth in argument construction, these KES students represented the province with pride in an incredible wrap up to the season. Congrats to these debaters and our whole debate family on a great 2022-2023 season.
