Our Hardworking IB Students
Our students have been working hard over the last few weeks writing International Baccalaureate (IB) exams in various spaces on campus including the athletic centre, the dining hall, and the library. Each exam occurs simultaneously in schools around the world; that is, when our students write higher level math paper three on a certain date and time, that is when all students over the world write that very same exam in their time zone. When complete, the exams are assessed by a team outside of our School community.
Sitting down before a recent exam, Sarah Hardy ‘22 remarked that she felt like IB was trying to test every single bit of her knowledge over the course of the exam period. It’s true that the exams test knowledge. It’s also true that the exam period tests grit and determination. The IB exam period is not about one exam, but one exam at a time, day after day. We have been so proud of the efforts and perseverance of our students as they continue to meet the many challenges that IB exams present.
KES inspires academic, athletic and artistic excellence with a commitment to the traditional community ideals of gentleness and learning, dignity and respect, so that students may discover and cultivate their unique potential, prepare for post-secondary education and develop a life-long enthusiasm for the spiritual and intellectual growth necessary to flourish in the contemporary world.
