Holmes, Darrell Armstrong

Passed away on October 2, 2020.
Darrell Arm strong Holmes, age 83, of Wolfville, formerly of Windsor, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2020, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Darrell is survived by his wife, Sylvia (MacDonald); daughter, Leisa Albert (Guy); grandson, Scott Albert (Marianne); and by great-granddaughters, Abby and Kim. Darrell was predeceased by his parents, Helen (Armstrong) and Ralph Holmes; brother, Donald; special cousin, Marion Parker. He was co-owner of R. D. Holmes Ltd., Windsor until 1976, when he began employment with the Canadian Armed Forces in Halifax until his retirement in 2001. He was a past member of the Avon Valley Golf Club, Windsor Curling Club, and the Windsor Fire Department. The family wishes to express a sincere thank you, to the compassionate supportive nurses of Unit 200, and the Palliative care nurses Amber Phillips and Paulette Bennett, Dr. Williams and Dr. Matheson. Cremation has taken place under the care of Lindsay Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King St., P.O.Box 2218, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0. There will be a private remembrance at a later date.
