2020 KES Graduation

Dear Graduates of the Class of 2020:

Our Graduation Committee has been busy planning for the day when the graduating class can finally be reunited to celebrate all our achievements. We are very excited to welcome everyone back on campus on August 22nd for an afternoon and evening of catching up and creating memories to take with us into our future endeavours. With the Atlantic bubble we are hoping that many of you can make it back to campus, but we also realize that there are many students and families who will be unable to attend. We will be livestreaming the graduation ceremony itself, and we hope that those graduates who can’t attend can join us via Zoom so we can still see you on the stage. We will project you on the screen and present your diploma virtually!
In order to assist us with the finer details of the day, it is very important that you RSVP by August 2nd (see link below) if you can attend, and let us know how many family members will be joining you for the ceremony. We also need to know if you are able to join us for the virtual part of the day so that we can arrange the technology to include you.

Please note that once we know numbers, we will be in touch with further details, including the location for each event.

Schedule of Events
12:30 pm—Pick up white tunics/kilts*
1:30 pm—Chapel Ceremony
2:15 pm—Grad picture
2:30 pm—Graduation Ceremony
4:00 pm—Hand in Time Capsule information and enjoy some non-contact games and activities on campus (some students may choose this time to get ready for the reception and dinner)
5:30 pm—Reception and father/daughter/mother/son dance
6:30 pm—Dinner for the Graduates and Alumni pin presentations
8:00 pm—Bonfire and fireworks with music
9:30 pm—Parents return to pick up students

*In order to get the correct size for your white tunic and to speed up the process for Grad day (for those who are able), please contact Nancy Morash for an appointment to have your tunic sized and picked up (you are responsible for alterations). This will give more time to those who cannot come to KES before Grad day. There won't be enough time for tunic alternations on Grad day.

Due to the current public health restrictions, it will be imperative that the following guidelines are adhered to during our Grade 12 celebration events:
  • Approximately one week prior to the event, a questionnaire will be emailed out. It is essential that you review the questionnaire that will be included. You will be asked similar questions upon arriving to campus on the day of the event. Should you have any issues with the questionnaire, there will be a number to call for advisement.
  • Please bring a mask to be worn throughout the day. Social distancing must always be adhered to. We will assume family cohorts to allow families to sit together, without social distancing.
  • Photos of family members will be permitted without social distancing; however, any other photo opportunities must follow social distancing guidelines.
  • Please refrain from bringing food or gifts that are intended for anyone other than your family.
Our hope is that we are still in the same phase as we currently are, but if things change, we will be flexible and keep you abreast of the changes should they occur. We are doing our best to ensure a safe and fun day for everyone, but we must adhere to public health guidelines and remain flexible as things can change rapidly.
