Grade 10 Painting Project
This painting assignment was designed to focus on colour and the use of brushstrokes. It also introduced our students to the process of layering paint on the stretched canvas with an under-painting. The under-painting gives an overall warm or cool tone before starting the actual painting. The class researched the post-impressionist group and their use of colour and how to shape objects with brushstrokes (using the artist Van Gogh as an example). They achieved very successful results! A few of the paintings are on displayed in front of our Fountain Performing Arts Centre and will remain there throughout the exam period.
