Nicole Suzanne Angèle (Belliveau) Dearman age 60, of Halifax, passed away peacefully in the company of her daughter and husband on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, in Halifax on floor 5A of the VG Site, QEII where she was taken care of by nurses who showed immense kindness and compassion. A daughter of the late Dr. Robert P. Belliveau, she is survived by her mother, Rose (Preston) Belliveau; husband, Robert Dearman; daughter, Robyn Dearman; sister-in-law, Diane (the late Jean-Paul) Nakazawa Belliveau; siblings, André (Joline) Belliveau, Guy (Brenda) Belliveau, Gilles (Dianne) Belliveau, Daniel Belliveau, Christine Belliveau, and Aline (Terry) Dedman, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, Nicole was predeceased by her brothers, Jean-Paul and Alain Belliveau. After growing up in Meteghan, Nicole moved to Halifax to attend Dalhousie University where she graduated in 1981. She dominated jobs that had only previously been held by men, including a manager's position at Harvey's for 15 years of which she greatly enjoyed, and where she would eventually meet her husband Robert. She was a fair and honest manager no matter where she was working, and this was no different at Circle K/Irving where she spent her last working days. Throughout her life Nicole was a phenomenal gardener, artist through the medium of mosaics and stained glass, and she developed a passion for raising monarch butterflies in hopes of increasing the endangered population. In total, Nicole was able to release over 200 monarchs! She saw beauty in places where most people did not - little antique shops on the side of the road, a sparrow hopping around our lawn, or even a ditch of wildflowers. If you want to learn anything from Nicole, it would be to stop and smell the roses - or lilacs, or ocean, or wherever life takes you.
