Being More

Leading up to the March break is always a frantic time here on campus. The usual routine is busy enough as it stands and then you add to that, major assignments, finalized IB work uploads, sports finals and championships, trip preparations, etc. An honours student and pending graduate, Kathleen Balcome has been balancing all of these responsibilities and more. For the past five years, she has been a multi-instrumentalist and a cornerstone of every School band. Kathleen is a talented vocalist as well. Last week, she and the other students of my Grade 12 Music class gave their end-of-term recitals, and Kathleen's performance began with a song, followed by a number of piano pieces. The piece she chose to sing is entitled Dancing On My Own, by Calum Scott. Supporting her warm and sensitive rendition is Mrs. Nicole Barrett's piano accompaniment. I trust that you will enjoy this performance just as much as her audience did!
