Constructing a Rube Goldberg Machine

On Friday, November 2, all Grade 12 IB Science students participated in the IB Group 4 Project. This task is a mandatory component of the IB Science curriculum and it aims to develop, among other things, collaboration among the different sciences. Working in groups of four, students from various disciplines (chemistry, biology, physics and computer science) were expected to work together to design and construct a Rube Goldberg machine. The attached videos show a few highlights of the day.

Hannah Sinclair (IB Chemistry)
Meghan Keoughan (IB Biology)
Chris MacLean (IB Chemistry)
Derek Bouwman (IB Computer Science)
DJ DeCoste (IB Physics)

The wonderful thing about striving to be more is that you never know where you might end up. Through our International Baccalaureate Programme, our students are able to pursue post-secondary education almost anywhere in the world. Download our IB Guidebook here.
