You have to Love the Classics
As much as we're bombarded by pop music in our day-to-day lives, it's encouraging to know that classical music still finds its way into the repertoire of young musicians. Frederic Chopin's Waltz in D-flat major, Op. 64, No. 1, Valse du petit chien, or Minute Waltz, as it is most often referred to, remains as popular today as it was in origin. Grade 11 student, Megumi Tsuji, began learning this piece at the age of six and she has been perfecting it ever since. Her portfolio of selections is extensive, so I am likely to feature her more as the School year unfolds.
