Chaplain’s Corner

There will be a short Sunday Service of Holy Communion or Mass at 4:30pm offered on most Sundays during term time to which all are welcome.

In keeping with the educational principles of King’s-Edgehill School, religious instruction is also provided, apart from the daily Chapel Services held throughout the School year.

Fides quarens intellectum - Faith seeking understanding is a basic principle that guides and directs the entire educational programme.
Questions about religion abound, especially in what some now call the post-secular society. To that end, I want to offer some classes to assist in our understanding about religion. A general introduction to World Religions and/or Religious Inquirer’s class will be offered in the Fall Term on Mondays from 4:35-5:00pm, open to all interested students. The classes will be held in Room 204.
In keeping with the faith commitment of the School to its historical foundations and character, I am happy to provide, probably on designated Mondays at 4:35-5:00 pm in the mid-winter term, specific instruction in the Christian Faith in preparation for confirmation in the Anglican (and Lutheran and United traditions) and for all others who are interested. If you would like your child to receive religious instruction, please complete and return the enclosed form. The classes will be held in Room 204.
These classes are for all who are interested in learning what the Christian Faith is essentially as well as providing instruction for confirmation for those who are adherents of the Anglican, Lutheran and United Churches. The basis of instruction is the Catechism of the Book of Common Prayer. The classes also provide opportunities to explore questions about other religions and other forms of expression of the Christian Faith.
Please contact the Chaplain if you are interested.

We hope to continue with a choral component in the School. Singing in choirs is a wonderful way of learning, quite literally, a multitude of things, such as music and words, history and scripture. We encourage your children to take advantage of learning in choral music. Times to be announced.
Sunday Services

Students and parents are reminded of Sunday services at 8:00am and 10:30am at Christ Church in Windsor, the Parish with which the Chapel is associated. During the winter months, the services are held in the Parish Hall.
With every blessing,
(Rev’d) David Curry
