Advancement and Alumni Relations Assistant (Summer Student Position)

About Our Opportunity

Reporting to the Executive Director, Strategic Growth, the Advancement and Alumni Relations Summer Student will aid in day-to-day operations of the department which engages the School’s alumni population and fundraises for the School. The primary responsibility of the Advancement and Alumni Relations Summer Student will be data entry, aiding in the archives, helping with the execution of alumni events, and other administrative tasks.  
Primary Responsibilities
  • Data entry and clean up of constituent records
  • Entering donated and existing items into new archival database
  • Helping with the execution of alumni events
  • Helping with the coordination of annual alumni magazine
  • Helping with photography for special occasions
  • Other duties related to the department as they may arise
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Must be a (entering or returning to) post-secondary student, legally able to work in Canada, and a resident of Nova Scotia
  • Solid writing and editing skills, ideally with an interest in fundraising and alumni relations
  • Outgoing, friendly personality keen to jump into a busy work environment and meet new people
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritize own work
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Previous experience in customer relations, fundraising, event planning, or database entry considered an asset
What We Offer
  • Position Type: Full-time/Hourly Term (8-14 weeks) 
  • Salary: $18.00 per hour
  • Hours of Work: 32-40 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
  • Work Location: 90% in school office, 10% at venue site or around campus
  • Other: Occasional evenings or weekends may be required
