Spelling Bee Champions

Congratulations to KES students Duncan Grant ‘28 and Chelsea James ‘29 who represented our school with pride at this weekend’s Nova Scotia Spelling Bee hosted by Cape Breton University!

Duncan and Chelsea were among 17 spellers from across the province who competed for the provincial title. Chelsea performed very well and made it through numerous rounds before slipping up on the word "musings". She placed seventh overall, great job Chelsea!

Duncan was calm and confident throughout. His championship word was "riviera" which he nailed and was crowned the 2024 Nova Scotia Spelling Bee Champion! With the title comes the privilege of representing King’s-Edgehill School, Nova Scotia, and Canada at the Scripps National Spelling Bee this May in Washington, D.C. Way to go Duncan!

This is the second provincial winner in three years from our Junior School and we should be very proud of Chelsea and Duncan's performances!
