Recognizing Excellence in Marksmanship

This week at assembly we recognized the marksmanship excellence of the top marksmen of the 254 King’s-Edgehill School Highland Cadet Corps with the presentation of certificates and marksmanship badges.

Leading the way is Warrant Officer Ann MacQuarrie ‘25 with Distinguished Marksman. Her ability to shoot groupings of under 1.5 cm at a distance of 30 feet consistently makes Ann the Corps top marksman! Ann received her cross rifle with crown badge which she’ll proudly sew on her green Highland doublet.

Sergeant Tove Snarby ‘26 is now an Expert Marksman with 2.0 cm groupings and Sergeant Max Stulberger ‘24 qualified as First Class Marksman with his 2.5 cm groupings. Rounding out the group was Cadet Goetz Gotthardt ‘23 who qualified as a First Class Marksman before departing for Germany. We have a very strong core group to be proud of.

The biathlon team starts back up this week after the Christmas break with a renewed commitment to training. We have seen continuous improvement with each passing week. More cadets are consistently getting all five of five on the biathlon drop-down targets and they can run as well as they shoot.

There have been several cadets and parents who have asked about Cadet Summer Training Centre courses. Once the course selection becomes available, we'll get the word out so that the cadets who would be interested in attending can sign up. Summer courses are offered in July and August across Canada.
