The JV soccer boys played their final league game yesterday at Horton. The team was down 7 players yesterday and we struggled to get any offense going until the second half, but that only produced a handful of decent scoring opportunities. The game started very evenly matched, but once Horton scored in the first 15 minutes, they continued with a few more, as the KES team scrambled to readjust against a strong side. KES lost control of the middle and we lacked the ability to quickly distribute the ball to open space along the flanks. Our lone goalie and captain - Tony O. was with us for support, but was not able to play as he was injured from a incident playing football with his pals. We were fortunate to have Kofi step up to take the net for the entirety of the game. This was an admirable move for Kofi and certainly helped us to remain competitive as the game progressed. He became much more confident as the game went on. He was certainly deserving as the man of the match for stepping up in some difficult circumstances, where most would shy away from the challenge. We now await a other league results to be finalized, before we find out our final playing. It looks like we will place 4th and potentially play the 3rd place team in the league playoffs. We are looking forward to a solid finish to the season.
