Welcome to May Madness!
Our prep girls basketball team had a great trip to Brighton/Ann Arbor Michigan for the Michigan May Madness NCAA exposure event.
Our 16U team (Grades 9 and 10), which includes our younger players, were on a strong learning curve against some very talented young players. After a tough loss in the first game, the 16U group continued to raise their game throughout the event, capping it off with a dominating win by 25 points in their last game. This was a solid outing for our younger group of current and future Highlanders.
Our 17U team (Grades 11 and 12), played with only seven players due to sickness and provincial duties. The shorter summer season games helped us as the 17U team got better every game as well. After starting out the event with two straight losses, the team righted itself, and ran off three straight wins, with two of them having 17-point spreads in each game, and we finished the event with a winning record of 3-2.
Spring development and exposure is going well, and we are seeing the players competing at a high level and improving with every game. We are looking forward to the arrival of some of the new Highlanders, who are coming to KES in the fall of 2023, to join us for mid summer competition after school is out for everyone.
We are ready for the busy sprint to the end of school.
