Sunday, September 16th marks the 38th Annual Terry Fox Run for Cancer Research and, once again, King’s-Edgehill School will host the Windsor community event. It will be great to see the entire student body, alumni, parents, KES friends, faculty, and the extended Windsor community continue Terry’s Marathon of Hope. It is a great social event and fundraiser for cancer research. Whether running, walking, or cycling the five kilometre route through town, participants are invited to complete the lap as many times as desired.
Volunteers are needed as we get ready to host the 2018 Windsor Terry Fox Run on our campus. If you are interested in helping out before the school year begins, here are some things you can do:
1. Download your own pledge sheet (www.terryfox.org
) and collect sponsors before the School year begins.
2. Create an online pledge page (www.terryfox.org
) where your contacts can sponsor you.
3. Invite your family and friends to attend the 2018 Terry Fox Run on Sunday, September 16th
Once the School year begins, there are many jobs to be done to get ready for the event. You can contact me (firstname.lastname@example.org
) if you would like to help.
At KES we are great supporters of the Terry Fox Run and our community has been instrumental in raising money for innovative cancer research. It is amazing to think that the efforts of our KES community over the past 33 years have raised over $1/4 million! Last year’s contribution of approximately $16,000 was amazing. It placed our Windsor Run 3rd in the province for fundraising out of 70 run sites across Nova Scotia. With your help, we will maintain this leadership position in 2018.
Look forward to seeing you in September!
