Edgehill Falls to Eventual Tournament Champion in Second Game

Despite our loss on the previous day, our girls were excited to get back on the floor together on day two of our tournament. Up against the Bears from Gorsebrook in Halifax, we knew we would be in tough as they were a well-coached and aggressive team. We challenged ourselves to try to match their intensity and to continue to work on our communication and defense.

Although we battled hard, it seemed as though our opponents were always one step ahead of us. Early in the game, it became apparent that we wouldn't have the firepower necessary to keep pace, but not one of our girls quit and they continued to die for loose balls and contest shots even in the final seconds.

In this game, a number of players played well including Georgia MacKinnon, Gabby Strickey, and Adeayo Kofoworade. In the end, though, it was Maya Faucher who set the tone from the opening tip-off and played with passion and energy all game long while grabbing rebounds, scoring points and playing great defense.

Final Score: KES 17-GBJH 47

Player of the Game: Maya Faucher
