Girls Win GOLD in Atlantic Challenge Cup

On the long Thanksgiving weekend, 9 of our female hockey players along with our female head coach competed in the Atlantic Challenge Cup for the province of Nova Scotia.

Ava Benedict ’20, Madelyn Walsh ’19, Jordyn Hickey ’19 Jenna Leighton ’19 and coach Isabelle Germain won GOLD with the Under 16 Nova Scotia team. Mae Batherson ’19, Maggie Baxter ’19, Lea MacLeod ’18, Kenzie Cecchetto ‘18 and Julia Schmitt ’17 won GOLD with the Under 18 Nova Scotia team.

The Atlantic Challenge Cup brings together the top players, while representing their provinces, in the male Under 14 and Under 15 categories, along with the female Under 16 and Under 18 categories. The teams were selected from each of their respective provincial summer evaluation camps.

Players attending the Atlantic Challenge Cup came from all corners of our region which truly makes this an Atlantic Canadian event.
