Gretchen Archibald ‘24 Named The New 4-H Club Ambassador
We are so proud to announce that Gretchen Archibald ‘24 has been named Nova Scotia 4-H Ambassador for the 2024-25 year, along with her Cape Breton counterpart. It is a great honour to be chosen out of the entire province and shows a lot of hard work, dedication, and strength of character. She will now emcee and help organize all 4-H Nova Scotia events for the upcoming year.
To earn this title, she had to compete through three stages. In doing so, she now represents Hants County, the Valley Region, as well as Nova Scotia. There were nine competitors at the provincial stage. They each had to do a formal interview, and an impromptu speech to which they were given a topic and had five minutes to prepare. She then had to do a full-page sight reading that they were given as they walked on stage. She handled herself with dignity and maturity.
4-H is a hands-on, community-based youth organization that is dedicated to developing young Canadians and encouraging them to become responsible members of society. They help youth “Learn To Do By Doing” in a safe and inclusive environment and provide opportunities for leadership and life skills development while promoting agriculture awareness. We are so proud – great job Gretchen!
