And the Award Goes To...

Our second annual Arts and Athletic Awards Celebration was held in the Fountain Performing Arts Centre last Thursday, May 30, 2024.

What a show it was, with Mr. Seagram starting the celebration with a lyrical rendition of “On with the show, this is it”. Then the Grade 10 music class kicked us off with a lively musical performance. The awards were balanced with the athletic awards and the arts awards, and performances from the arts in between the awards. One of the amazing highlights was the dance team doing an emotional dance to “What was I made for”.

The special awards introduced a new award in honour of Mr. Kim Walsh, called the K. Walsh award. This award will be given to the multisport athlete who participates enthusiastically in sport and demonstrates the very best of sportsmanship throughout the year: humility in victory and honour in defeat.

The Arts Department also wanted to give Mrs. Taya Shields, our Star Recognition – this plaque is presented to Taya Shields for her continued support to the KES Arts Department. Taya will be remembered for her huge appreciation of art adorning the walls at KES.

A memorable moment and event showcasing terrific athleticism and artistic talent at KES!
