Athletes of the Week

Athletes of the Week (AOW) are selected based on athletic performance and sportsmanship. Positive sporting behavior is valued at KES and integral to our athletic philosophy and School mission statement emphasizing gentleness, learning, dignity, and respect. These student-athletes also reflect the seven principles of “true sport” which states: go for it, play fair, respect others, keep it fun, stay healthy, include everyone, and give back.

For the week of November 19

Quinn Watt '28 stood out in the net at the Armbrae Hockey Tournament. We won both of our games with her in goal as she had a goals-against average of 1.00. She moves well in the crease and she is always in a good position to make the saves. Congratulations Quinn!

Jack Shearer '29 was an excellent offensive and defensive player at the Armbrae Hockey Tournament. He has a great finishing touch around the net and scored several of our goals. Although only in Grade 7, he is one of our best players. Well done Jack!

Lena Falkenberger '24 played a fantastic game Saturday in Pictou against the Northern Subway Selects. She shutdown the leading scorers in the province and gave the Highlanders a great chance to win. Lena also exemplifies positive qualities that make her a great teammate. Keep up the great work Lena!

Sierra Phillips '25 had an excellent performance in the senior girls basketball season opener against last year's D1 provincial medal winning Halifax West squad. From our opening possession, it was clear that Sierra was focused and ready to assert herself on both sides of the floor. She showed an ability to control the key and was one of our team leaders with 11 points. Sierra's team-first attitude and work ethic have been apparent since our practices started and her positivity has been infectious. Great game, Sierra!
