Athletes of the Week

Athletes of the Week (AOW) are selected based on athletic performance and sportsmanship. Positive sporting behaviour is valued at KES and integral to our athletic philosophy and School mission statement emphasizing gentleness, learning, dignity, and respect. These student athletes also reflect the seven principles of “true sport” which states: go for it, play fair, respect others, keep it fun, stay healthy, include everyone, and give back.

Maggie Wellard ‘28 has been a powerhouse all season, but she finished the soccer season extremely strong by scoring the only overtime goal to advance the team to the championship game. She also netted two more goals to secure the gold medal! Great work, Maggie!

Andrew Klein‘27 scored two key goals in the tight regional semi final helping secure a tight 3-2 win over Bluenose Academy. Andrew struck twice from outside the box with left-footed blasts. The team rode the momentum to the soccer championship. Well done, Andrew!

Kristy Michaud ‘24 played two incredible hockey games last weekend. She faced both the champion and the runner up. She made more miraculous saves throughout the games than I can count. Off the ice, she is a leader on our team and has been working hard adapting to that role and being a positive influence on younger players. Keep up the great work, Kristy!

Yuta Takahashi ‘24 exemplifies what it means to be committed to a sport. He consistently gives 100% in practice and encourages his teammates to do the same. Yuta leads by example and knows how to have fun while also working hard. He maintains a positive attitude and always offers words of encouragement to his team.
