Piano Club

The Explore More program has just finished its second week. One of the popular options is Mr. Lakes’ Beginner Piano Club. Twelve students are participating in the weekly program, which challenges them to take up creative piano. They cover some music theory; however, the main goal is to learn to improvise with basic knowledge of scales and chords. They have begun learning some of their favorite songs and familiar piano intros to familiar hits. Students move from small keyboards and headphones to several of the pianos that are on campus. The goal is that some students will perform at the final Explore More assembly in March.
