Lunar New Year Celebration

Lunar New Year is a holiday celebrated in many Asian countries. It signals the coming of the new year on the Lunar calendar and there are many traditions surrounding this date. This year we celebrated by taking a group of students out to a traditional Chinese restaurant where students were able to order traditional foods to celebrate the holiday. One tradition is that on the eve of Lunar New Year, you eat one dish of pork, bird meat, and seafood, representing the earth, sky, and oceans. Students were able to fulfill this tradition and many more and we most definitely had a good time.
