A Simpler Time
King’s-Edgehill School is proud to introduce its fourth Senior School play production, A Simpler Time, which brings together a group of passionate and dedicated students from Grades 10-12.
A Simpler Time is a collection of short comedies that is presented to you through the wonderful world of time travel. In an hour and a half, you will follow the lives of teenagers Marley, Chris, and Taylor who are desperately looking for a break from their chaotic, modern lives. With the world’s problems weighing heavily on their shoulders, they prepare to use a time machine to find “a simpler time”. They jump from a common household in the medieval ages, to a busy switchboard in the 1940s, and they even find themselves caught up in the future! A Simpler Time is brought to you by enthusiastic and spirited students who are bursting with bright talent.
In preparation for their shows on April 12 and 13, we are excited to present three members of our gifted cast and crew in the weekly newsletter to give you a sneak peek of the incredible talent you can expect to see! We hope you will support them by attending our performances in the spring.

Gala Cardoso Cardona ‘24
Gala is in her first and final year at King’s-Edgehill. In her short time here, Gala has become a valued member of the KES dance team and a widely loved member of the community. You will be able to see her perform with the dance team at the Cultural Fair next week. She is an IB theatre student and will be bringing her radiant positivity and flair for the dramatic to the stage as Lady Winthrop this April. When asked what she was most looking forward to in A Simpler Time, Gala said that she’s looking forward to seeing the audience laugh and tackling the challenge of staying in character while acting in such a humorous scene. Break a leg, Gala!
Jessica Etou ‘24
When Jessica arrived at King’s-Edgehill in Grade 9, nobody knew the impact she would have upon the arts community in the four years that followed. She is an IB visual arts student, a versatile and creative member of Improv Club, an Executive Council Head of the Marketing Committee, and a member of the school choir singing at Parliament two times. Additionally, Jessica is in this winter’s Quick-as-a-Wink production of The Prom and will be returning to Dramafest this May. Her many contributions to theatre have included being the understudy for all six of Ariel’s sisters during The Little Mermaid and playing Mrs. Phelps in Matilda. She has been involved with five King’s-Edgehill productions and she will be greatly missed in productions to come. You can see her onstage in two roles in A Simpler Time.
Claire Morton ‘24
Claire started at King’s-Edgehill in Grade 9, and she will be part of the graduating class this spring. She is an Executive Council Head of the Mental Health and Wellness Committee and uses this position to spread positivity throughout the school. Her skill in designing set pieces and props is aided by years of experience — A Simpler Time will be her sixth KES production. Claire believes there is a place for everyone in the arts and that theatre develops self-expression, collaboration, and quick-thinking skills. Her favourite part of the theatrical process is watching so many people come together to create something wonderful using a diverse range of talents. Thank you, Claire!
