Artists of the Week

The arts at King’s-Edgehill are an inclusive environment that embraces diversity. Not only in who we are but in our choices of what we pursue and how we express that choice. Imagination and creativity foster the capacity to develop ideas, solve problems, provide life skills, and open the door for opportunities.  Intelligence and creativity are overlapping skills and through the arts, a person builds confidence, develops perspective, and finds their true nature.

Kelsea Griffiths ‘27 is awarded Artist of the Week for her lovely and thought-provoking poem, Reader’s Haven, which she wrote and recited at the Junior School Poetry Share. Her poem is about reading and how it can transport you into another world. Reading is the cheapest way to travel, explore, and learn. Kelsea captures the allure and wonder that reading provides, how the words creep into your mind and stay there while you dream, how the words fill your eyes with words you begin to see them paint your walls, and how your fingers can’t seem to turn the pages quick enough to find out what’s next. She is also taking on a new challenge with her role in the Junior School musical, stepping out of her comfort zone and giving it her all. Well done, Kelsea.
