Recognizing Athletic Excellence

The Annual Athletic Awards Ceremony for 2021-22 was a great success with almost 70 awards presented. We had a change in format this year and hosted the event in the afternoon in our Fountain Performing Arts Centre, and it was excellent to be able to get together as an entire School. The slideshow started us off, as usual, recapping the numerous athletic opportunities and memories, from our recreational, prep and varsity teams. The entire School community kept active and engaged throughout our many challenges with COVID-19. This was evident with being able to host and travel in the later part of the school year, including the opportunity to host the School Sport Nova Scotia (SSSNS) wrestling provincial championship in March and the SSNS rugby provincial championships this coming weekend. The coaches and athletes all deserve heart-felt congratulations for their many sacrifices and constant scheduling revisions.

As much as the afternoon was an opportunity to celebrate our very best varsity student-athletes, there are also coaches and students who participate in our many recreational activities who deserve recognition for their contribution to our School. Our recreational activities continue to make up half of the opportunities that we offer at KES, and they all add to our school culture. Congratulations to the award winners and to all the members who contribute to each teams’ success. Many thanks to all the coaches, administrators, kitchen staff and maintenance department staff who work hard to provide a superior experience to our student-athletes.
